Post Doctoral Fellow - Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering
Responsibilities
- Develops kinematic models and constitutive relations of various organs and tissues of the respiratory system: lungs, diaphragm, airways, and chest ribs cage.
- Reconstructs the geometric shapes of the organs of the respiratory system from CT images.
- Develops finite element codes to simulate the function of the respiratory system.
- Publishes in peer-reviewed journals and supports proposal writing.
Requirements
- PhD in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
- Strong background in solid mechanics and computational mechanics.
- Familiarity with biomechanics and biomedical engineering (preferred).
- Experience with 3D scanning systems (preferred).
Qualifications
- Clear and clean English skills as supported by an adequate publication record.

- Knowledge of specialized advanced professional disciplines or the highest level of general business knowledge (requires attainment of a directly job-related terminal degree or equivalent formal training).

We are seeking a Post Doctoral Fellow to work on mechanics of the respiratory system. The project combines theoretical development, image analysis, and computer simulation.
