About the role

The Events Specialist assists in the overall administration of Midwest City special events and festivals. Responsibilities include conducting meetings with citizen committees, coordinating with city departments to accomplish projects, and designing and coordinating projects with community organizations such as school systems, military contacts, and the Midwest City Chamber of Commerce. The role emphasizes the importance of brand imaging and public perception of the City’s mission, purpose, and values.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the administration of special events and festivals.
• Conduct meetings with citizen committees.
• Coordinate with city departments to accomplish projects.
• Design and coordinate projects with community organizations, including school systems, military contacts, and the Midwest City Chamber of Commerce.
• Maintain awareness of brand imaging and public perception of the City’s mission, purpose, and values.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Associate’s degree and/or experience in marketing, coordination of community events, and recreation programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
• Marketing and/or graphic design experience preferred.
• Valid Oklahoma driver’s license and insurable status.
• Must pass clerical, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher tests.
• This position is designated as safety/security sensitive and is subject to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and random drug and alcohol screening.

Pay

Starting salary range: $21.5855–$22.8556 per hour with benefits.
