Events Specialist

About the role

The City of Midwest City is seeking an Events Specialist in the Communications and Marketing department. The ideal candidate will assist in the administration of special events and festivals, coordinate with various community organizations, and understand the importance of brand imaging and public perception.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the overall administration of special events and festivals
• Counsels and coordinates with citizen committees and city departments on project implementation
• Designs and coordinates projects with community organizations such as schools, military contacts, and the Midwest City Chamber of Commerce

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Associates Degree and/or experience in marketing, coordination of community events and recreation programs required
• Bachelor's degree in related fields preferred
• Marketing and/or graphic design experience is preferred
• Intermediate skills in software such as other, presentation/PowerPoint, 10-key, alphanumeric data entry, spreadsheet, and word processing/typing
• A valid Oklahoma driver license and ability to be insured
• Passes clerical, word, excel, PowerPoint, and Publisher tests

Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess a valid Oklahoma driver license and be insurable. This position is designated as safety/security sensitive and is subject to pre-employment, reasonable suspicion, and random drug and alcohol screening.

Benefits

This position offers a starting salary range of $21.5855-$22.8556/hr. with benefits.
