About the role

The Events Specialist will join the Marketing & Events team to run the firm’s marketing and internal events from start to finish. This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in all aspects of event planning while contributing to effective event experiences. The position is remote, meaning job duties do not require proximity to a CohnReznick office, though occasional in-office presence may be required for client work, team meetings, or trainings.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the maintenance and development of event project plans, including conceptualizing events based on client objectives, setting timelines, budgets, and deliverables, and ensuring all logistics are accounted for.
  • Select, develop, and manage relationships with vendors such as caterers, decorators, entertainers, and equipment providers, including venue selection, while ensuring compliance with firm event requirements.
  • Build drive-to-registration experiences aligned with event goals.
  • Create and maintain documentation with instructions and best practices for event digital platforms and processes.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple events simultaneously.
  • Apply attention to detail and problem-solving abilities to address unexpected challenges and troubleshoot event issues.
  • Coordinate pre- and post-event logistics, including booth reservations, access to virtual platforms, and shipping of materials (e.g., collateral, premiums).
  • Work under tight deadlines, including evenings, weekends, and holidays when events occur.
  • Maintain awareness of current market trends and conditions that may impact suppliers, costs, or strategic decisions.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years’ experience in live and virtual event planning.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communications, hospitality/event management, or a related field.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, with a focus on interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced and challenging environments; must be a proactive self-starter with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Experience delegating tasks and executing plans in a team environment.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft products, especially Excel (including PIVOT tables).
  • Desired experience with project management platforms (e.g., Monday.com).
  • Optional certifications such as Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) or Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP).
  • Exceptional organization and record-keeping ability.
  • Strong customer service mindset and demonstrated ability to set and manage priorities in a multi-task, cross-functional environment.
  • Emotional intelligence and a thorough understanding of customer service.
  • Ability to work from a local office for events as required and travel up to 50% of the time to support onsite events.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • While at the office, largely sedentary but may require lifting files/boxes up to 25 lbs., opening filing cabinets, and bending or standing on a stool.
  • While traveling or onsite for events, must be able to:
    • Lift up to 40–60 lbs for personal and event team materials.
    • Work 10–15-hour days (including early mornings and late nights).
    • Ascend and descend stairs.
    • Carry boxes up to 20 lbs.
    • Bend or kneel to unpack/pack materials.
    • Perform repetitive arm movements/bending to lift.

Pay

In California, the salary range for this role is $64,000 to $90,000. Actual compensation will depend on skills, experience, qualifications, and location, in accordance with applicable employment laws.
