About the role
The Events Intern will assist the event team with coordination of various events, including annual events like the Annual Wish Ball and Love For Wishes, as well as individual and Kids for Wish Kids events. This role also supports the Community Engagement Department in planning their events. This is an on-site position based in Scottsdale, AZ.
Responsibilities
- Assist with all aspects of events, including:
- Wish Ball auction: procure items, complete item intake process (in-kind donation forms and coordinating pickup), photograph items, post items to One Cause, and assist with auction redemption.
- Discovery, cultivation, and stewardship of event participants and supporters.
- Post-event follow-up and acknowledgment.
- Administrative support for the events department.
- Coordinate and plan the annual volunteer recognition event and community/alumni holiday event.
- Support the planning of 2-3 volunteer mixers throughout the state.
- Prepare programs and outreach materials for each event.
- Coordinate the creation and mailing of holiday cards to volunteers and wish families.
Note: Due to event scheduling, all interns must be available on the following dates: November 17, November 18, October 29, April 2, and April 3.
Requirements
- Excellent project management, customer service, and communication skills.
- Ability to work quickly and independently.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook and Excel.
- Minimum of 15-25 hour work week preferred, with potential for weekend hours per event schedule.
- Passion for the Make-A-Wish mission.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
