Events Intern - Fall 2026
About the role
RFG Advisory is seeking an intern for Fall 2026, with the potential to extend through the Spring. The Events Intern will provide focused support for RFG Advisory's advisor-facing and corporate events program, including our signature annual retreats and advisor-hosted events. Working directly with the Executive Operations and marketing teams, this intern will gain hands-on experience across the full event lifecycle - from early-stage concept, strategy, planning and budget management through logistics coordination and asset creation.
Responsibilities
- Assist with budget tracking, expense coding, and vendor management
- Clock logistics such as room blocks, travel manifests, food and beverage manifest, and A/V setup
- Maintain attendee lists, registration tracking, and pre-event communication timelines
- Lead venue research, and proposal comparison to support event site selection
- Aid in budget development, expense tracking, and reconciliation across advisor-hosted events
- Support contract review by flagging key terms, deadlines, attrition clauses, and open items for team review
- Create event assets including save-the-dates, agendas, signage, branded materials, and digital communications
- Clock logistics and communications in the lead-up to each event with vendors and advisors
- Maintain organized event files and shared documentation in Microsoft 365 (SharePoint, Teams, Outlook)
- Attend planning meetings, capture notes, and track action items
- Leverage AI tools to streamline asset creation, communication drafts, research, and project documentation
- Bring a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset to every project
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a degree in Event Management, Hospitality Management, or a closely related field (Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, etc.)
- Proficiency with AI tools (such as ChatGPT, Claude, or similar) and genuine comfort integrating them into everyday workflows
- Strong organizational skills with sharp attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously and meet deadlines
- Collaborative, professional, and positive team presence
Preferred
- Prior event coordination experience through coursework, internships, or volunteer work
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel)
- Experience with Canva or other design tools for producing event materials
- Interest in the financial services or wealth management industry
Benefits
This role can be in our Birmingham office or remote. Schedule: 10-20 hours weekly, will be determined based off of the candidate and manager's schedules
