Events & Education Specialist

Job Description

The Events & Education Specialist is responsible for planning, scheduling, and executing public and private events including specialized cooking/wine/food knowledge classes, buyouts, press events, tastings, and private receptions. They support the Chef during scheduled classes and events by anticipating their needs and those of the La Scuola guests. Duties include setting up dining areas, preparing La Scuola workstations, serving meals, cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen, performing side work, and closing duties.

• Writes and monitors class descriptions; compiles instructor biographies, Banquet Event Orders (BEO’s) and sales contracts; creates class registration pages online
• Fosters accountability in departments and interdepartmental collaboration when planning events
• Buils and manages client lists and relationships

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred
• Experience in restaurant operations, sales management, marketing or event planning
• Excellent organizational, project management and time management skills
• Outstanding professional communication skills and editorial skills
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of Italian wine and food gastronomy
• Proficiency in Italian language preferred
