About the role

The Student Events & Activities Coordinator is a vital staff member within the Student Involvement and Leadership Development unit, part of the broader Student Engagement team. The Coordinator supports the planning and implementation of campus programs and events that enhance the student experience and promote engagement. This position coordinates a variety of initiatives including large-scale events, pop-up programs, off-campus excursions, and collaborative activities. The Coordinator manages event logistics including scheduling, vendor coordination, contracting, purchasing, marketing, and transportation, while working with campus partners to ensure programs are implemented safely and in accordance with University policies.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement a variety of campus and off-campus programs designed to enhance student engagement, including large-scale events, pop-up programs, and collaborative initiatives.
  • Manage event logistics from concept through execution, including venue reservations, catering coordination, transportation arrangements, vendor coordination, and on-site event management.
  • Affiliate with coordinating student event staff and volunteers during program implementation to ensure safe, inclusive, and successful events.
  • Serve as a liaison and collaborative partner with departments across the Division of the Student Experience and the broader University community to support program development and implementation.
  • Coordinate with offices including Risk Management, Public Safety, Parking & Transportation, Dining Services/Catering, Disbursements, Purchasing, the Box Office, and the Comptroller’s Office to ensure events comply with university procedures and operational standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Preferred experience in planning, implementing, and executing student events and programs.
