About the role

Assist the Event Supervisor with the execution and coordination of events that add value for guests at Loon Mountain. Loon is a customer-focused organization, so a crucial part of each employee’s job is to get and keep guests.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains and enhances a guest-focused culture in all areas of responsibility.
  • Communicates effectively with all levels of employees, guests, and outside contacts.
  • Provides superior service to customers (internal and external) by following Resort Etiquette Guidelines.
  • Responds to all guests and employees in a courteous, efficient manner.
  • Assists with set-up and breakdown of each event site, including lifting and moving heavy equipment (10-50 lbs).
  • Helps with registration and organization of enrolling participants.
  • Works on snow for certain events, securing entrances/exits of private events.
  • Provides excellent guest service and communicates event details to the general public.
  • Assists the Event Supervisor with the development and promotion of events.
  • Coordinates with Mountain Operations, Ski Patrol, and other resort staff to execute events.
  • Controls event arena entrances and/or exits.
  • Organizes event registration and Release of Liability forms.

Safety Responsibilities

  • Protects the safety of self, co-workers, and guests at all times.
  • Reports potentially harmful equipment or situations to the immediate supervisor without delay.
  • Reports safety-related accidents and incidents immediately to the supervisor.
  • Follows all company and department safety policies and procedures.
  • Operates equipment safely to prevent injury to self or others.
  • Drives in accordance with the law and Loon Mountain Resort policies.
  • Works collaboratively when lifting or transporting equipment to avoid injury.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to speak and read English.
  • Ability to ski or snowboard at an intermediate level or higher.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment weighing 10-50 lbs.

Work Environment

Outdoor work environment with variable weather conditions.
