Night Building Supervisor at the Kellogg Center. Wage: $18.00 per hour.
About the role
Secure the building: open and close external doors, provide appropriate access to rooms, and manage key inventory. Provide excellent customer service with the help of front desk staff and other night employees.
Responsibilities
- Greet each event coordinator prior to the event starting time. Explain how to contact for assistance and check in with the customer to ensure all arrangements are set correctly.
- Help to deescalate unruly guests during events, sporting events, or during high occupancy nights.
- Make regular rounds throughout the building to ensure guests and employees are safe and secure.
- Record building traffic, head counts, and file hourly reports that occur within the building.
- Provide leadership and direction in emergencies and assist as needed.
- Enforce University and MSU Policies and Standards.
- Recognize and report safety and security problems to MSUPD.
- Provide support to Front desk, Housekeeping, and Engineering departments on an as-needed basis during the overnight shift.
- Document night shift activities for management review.
Requirements
- Available for night shift on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday during home football games.
- Available for 2 shifts during home game weeks.
- Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Display a high standard of ethical conduct.
- Ability to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
- Pass an employment criminal background check.
- This position is NOT for MSU degree-granting students.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of building operations and hospitality business procedures.
Schedule
- Friday and Saturday: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
- Occasional other days and hours depending on operational needs or special events.
Pay
$18.00 per hour.
