Event Server

About the role

As an Event Server at Cowles House, you will gain hands-on experience in hospitality, event operations, customer service, and professional networking while supporting university events, interacting with campus leaders, alumni, donors, and distinguished guests.

Responsibilities

• Serving food and beverages in a professional and courteous manner
• Event set up and execution
• Teamwork and collaboration, supervised and with minimal supervision
• Time management and organization

Requirements

• Be enrolled as a student at Michigan State University (during academic year)
• Demonstrated commitment to outstanding customer service
• Must be able to complete tasks in a timely manner with minimal supervision
• Must be available to work during all home football games
• Must be positive and respectful
• Excellent oral communication skills
• Positive interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous customer service, hospitality, restaurant, catering, or event experience is helpful but not required
• Experience working in team-oriented environments

Physical Demands

Ability to stand, walk, and carry items up to 25 pounds

Work Hours

• $15 per hour
• Flexible shifts that accommodate class schedules
• Variable hours Mon-Fri 7:00am to 10:00pm
• All HOME Football games preferred
• Occasional weekend shifts based on event needs
