Event Senior Sales Manager, Hotel Services –Gaylord Rockies Resort and Convention Center
Leads the sales process for assigned groups and directs staff to guide customers through their event experiences. Identifies solutions that meet customer goals, utilizing available tools to maximize event and revenue capture. Cultivates relationships with key hotel personnel and serves as a resource for large, high-end event production in the venue location/region. Supports team with guidance and training, and leads Company initiatives and business strategies.
Responsibilities
- Revenue Generation
- Drive results by soliciting and securing business through a proactive, consultative sales approach using Encore’s sales process and methodology.
- Maximize revenue opportunity for assigned customers by creating strategies for per-event revenue growth, including upsell and cross-sell opportunities.
- Create high-end, large event, advanced technology solutions for existing and potential customers.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations that convey the value of Encore and solve customer challenges.
- Collaborate with vendors and other departments to capture and service events.
- Attend site visits, pre-conference planning meetings, and venue meetings to support the customer event experience.
- Understand event cost structure and incorporate into solution designs according to profitability guidelines.
- Relationship Management
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with customers, venue personnel, and Encore supporting functions.
- Research customer history to create personalized experiences.
- Lead sales meetings, deliver group presentations, and facilitate budgeting and forecasting discussions with hotel partners.
- Attend internal and external customer meetings, understanding their goals and responding to concerns.
- Address customer complaints and resolve issues.
- Ensure all customer information is up-to-date and accurate in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
- Actively refer and guide customers through the Encore network to secure additional opportunities.
- Sales Accountability
- Maintain a healthy pipeline to ensure achievement of revenue targets.
- Ensure all known opportunities are accurately updated in the CRM.
- Support sales forecasting efforts, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Assist Director in setting sales quotas and assigning leads.
- Adopt all SOPs related to the role and new initiatives/programs.
- Maintain knowledge of new product/service offerings and emerging event technology.
- Support sales team members with pipeline management, sales strategies, and best practices.
- People Development
- Provide direct leadership and guidance to Sales Team members.
- Train, mentor, and coach sales team members.
- Partner with Sales Team members to support and guide large complex events.
- Promote a culture of high performance, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in regional or national committees as requested by sales leadership.
- Facilitate training at the location or within the home region to increase sales teams’ skills.
Requirements
- BS/BA or 3+ years of Encore or equivalent experience required.
- Minimum 2+ years of sales experience required; audiovisual, technology, or hospitality experience preferred.
- Knowledge of sales process and ability to read and decipher financial reports.
- Technical aptitude, computer proficiency, and CRM knowledge required; CAD and Oracle knowledge preferred.

Work Environment
Work is performed in a hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures, dirt, sand, and/or dust. Conditions vary from moderately quiet to noisy volumes. Team members use high-end audio-visual equipment and electrical components and may be exposed to heights via lifts and ladders. Work may occur in multiple hotel locations, with irregular hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Team members must adhere to appearance guidelines as defined by Encore.
Pay
Salary pay range: $63,409.00 - $75,055.00. Compensation is determined based on qualifications for the specified location and may include eligibility for overtime, bonuses, or incentives.
