About the role
The Events Sales Manager owns the sales process, from prospecting and first inquiry through a signed contract and a clean handoff to Operations. You’ll work with families, planners, venues, schools, and corporate clients to create entertainment, talent, and experiential concepts. This role sells events, not festivals or large-scale corporate AV. While Operations owns delivery, you’ll attend venue visits, trade shows, and select events to support key client moments.
Responsibilities
- Own the complete sales cycle, from prospecting and discovery through signed contract.
- Lead consultative discovery meetings with clients, planners, and venue partners.
- Develop original event concepts using talent, entertainment, photo, lighting, décor, branding, games, experiential activities, and production.
- Build strong knowledge of RTH products, packages, pricing, margins, and event flow.
- Prepare accurate quotes in Lasso, meet margin standards, and follow the approval process for large or complex proposals.
- Generate new business through networking, referrals, community engagement, and industry relationships.
- Build referral relationships with venues, planners, schools, synagogues, and community organizations.
- Manage the pipeline in Lasso and HubSpot; follow established sales processes and activity expectations.
- Collaborate with Operations and Production for a clear, seamless handoff.
- Attend venue visits, client meetings, trade shows, and events on evenings or weekends.
- Meet booking, revenue, margin, and activity goals.
Requirements
- 5+ years of consultative sales experience, ideally in weddings, hospitality, entertainment, luxury services, venues, or catering.
- A track record of meeting revenue goals and confidence guiding high-value, emotionally important purchase decisions.
- Disciplined CRM, pipeline, communication, organization, and follow-through habits.
- A creative mindset and the ability to turn a client brief into a distinctive, practical event concept.
- Working knowledge of event products, packages, AV, entertainment, production, floor plans, pricing, and margins, or the ability to learn them quickly.
- A valid driver’s license and flexibility for occasional evenings, weekends, venue visits, trade shows, and events.
What success looks like
- Convert qualified opportunities into booked events.
- Build repeat and referral business across priority markets.
- Meet booking, revenue, margin, and activity goals consistently.
