Position Summary

The Events Sales Manager is responsible for coordinating and overseeing events hosted at the restaurant and off-site, including private dining, corporate functions, social events, and other special occasions. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with exceptional communication and hospitality skills and the ability to create memorable experiences for guests.

Role Responsibilities

  • Sales & Client Engagement
    • Champion and represent the Milos brand in all private dining and event sales efforts, ensuring every guest interaction reflects the highest standards of luxury hospitality and service excellence.
    • Drive private dining and event revenue by proactively sourcing, developing, and converting business opportunities across corporate, social, and high-net-worth clientele.
    • Serve as the primary sales contact for all event inquiries, managing the full sales cycle from lead generation and inquiry response through proposal development, contracting, and final execution.
    • Create and customize event proposals, packages, and experiential offerings when negotiating contracts.
    • Negotiate event terms, pricing, and minimums within established guidelines to optimize profitability while maintaining brand positioning and integrity.
    • Accurately manage contracts, deposits, billing details, and payment schedules in coordination with finance and reservations teams.
    • Maintain a strong pipeline of future business through consistent outreach, site visits, networking, and follow-up activities.
    • Accountability for achieving sales targets and revenue of KPIs.
  • Event Consultation & Design
    • Consult with clients to define event goals, guest counts, budgets, menus, beverage selections, and special requests.
    • Develop customized event proposals reflecting the restaurant’s culinary identity, wine program, and service standards.
    • Provide informed recommendations on menu composition, wine pairings, and event enhancements, considering seasonality and dietary needs.
    • Conduct site visits to confirm event details and secure bookings.
  • Pre-Event Planning & Coordination
    • Manage all pre-event communication, contracts, and confirmations with accuracy and professionalism.
    • Conduct detailed pre-event briefings to ensure all teams are aligned on guest expectations, timing, menu, and service flow.
    • Plan event logistics including room layouts, seating plans, timelines, and audio/visual requirements.
    • Cook up with approved vendors and client partners to ensure alignment with restaurant standards.
    • Prepare and distribute concise event briefs for FOH, BOH, and management teams.
    • Collaborate closely with culinary, beverage, and FOH leadership to ensure event readiness and staffing alignment.
  • On-Site Event Management
    • Oversee all aspects of on-site event execution, including setup, guest arrival, service flow, and breakdown.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients during events, resolving issues promptly and professionally.
    • Manage event pacing, service timing, and transitions to deliver a seamless guest experience.
    • Direct FOH and BOH teams during service, maintaining fine-dining standards of hospitality, presentation, and execution.
    • Maintain an active floor presence, anticipating needs, and addressing issues in real time.
  • Team Leadership & Development
    • Supervise and support event and service staff, reinforcing expectations and service standards.
    • Provide real-time coaching during events and contribute to post-event reviews to drive performance improvement.
    • Foster a culture of responsiveness, professionalism, and proactive hospitality.
  • Post-Event Follow-Up & Process Improvement
    • Conduct post-event client follow-up to express appreciation and gather feedback.
    • Share insights with restaurant leadership to refine event execution, service flow, and internal processes.
  • Reservations & Administrative Oversight
    • Oversee large-party and VIP reservations, ensuring accuracy and alignment with operational capacity.
    • Maintain OpenTable settings including floor plans, pacing strategies, and special event configurations.
    • Complete required administrative documentation and reporting related to events and reservations.
    • Any other tasks as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills

  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in event planning, preferably in a fine dining or high-end hospitality setting.
  • Bachelor’s degree in hospitality management, Event Planning, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficient in event management platforms such as Tripleseat or comparable systems.
  • Comfortable with POS systems, reservation software (OpenTable, SevenRooms, etc.), and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven experience managing private dining, corporate events, and other special functions.
  • Capable of handling multiple events simultaneously while remaining on schedule and within budget.
  • Quick to address and resolve issues calmly and efficiently.
  • Ability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure situations.
  • Committed to creating memorable experiences for guests.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and eloquently, both verbally and in writing, in English.
  • Bi/Multilingual a plus.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
  • Strong work ethic and customer-focused approach.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be passionate, entrepreneurial, and dedicated to success.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to perform essential job functions consistently, safely, and successfully with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards.
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs at times.
  • Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the work area and property.
  • Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment.
  • Climbing steps regularly.
  • Prolonged periods standing or sitting at a desk and working on a computer and assist with setup and breakdown of events.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is between $70,000-$85,000 per annum plus commissions. The determination of what a specific employee in this job classification is paid depends on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, prior employment experience, job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills, etc.
