Event Operations Supervisor
About the role
The Hyatt Regency Coralville Hotel & Conference Center is seeking an Event Operations Supervisor to lead the execution of various events including weddings, conferences, galas, meetings, and special events. This role is not for event planning or sales but involves supervising banquet associates, overseeing event setup and service, and ensuring all functions are executed successfully.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support banquet associates during event setup, service, and breakdown
- Execute banquet event orders (BEOs) and ensure events are delivered according to client expectations
- Serve as the primary operational contact for clients during events
- Oversee food and beverage service to ensure quality and consistency
- Ensure banquet rooms are set according to event specifications and company standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet spaces and storage areas
- Assist with scheduling and labor planning based on event needs
- Monitor inventory and ensure necessary supplies are available
- Process banquet billing and ensure accuracy
- Support training and development of banquet associates
- Communicate effectively with managers and other departments
- Attend department meetings and assist with other duties as assigned
Requirements
Prior banquet server experience required. Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred. Strong communication and customer service skills, ability to multi-task and stay organized in a fast-paced environment, strong attention to detail, basic knowledge of food and beverage service, and ability to lift up to 35 lbs. with or without accommodation.

Pay & Schedule
Starting pay: $20.00-$22.00/hour, based on experience
Full-time position
Non-exempt, overtime eligible
Average hours: 30-45 per week
Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required based on event schedules
