About the role

The Event Operations Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and execution of internal turnkey events and organizational event initiatives. This role serves as an operational partner to internal departments, coordinating event intake, planning, logistics, and execution while helping create additional capacity within the Events team. The position oversees the event intake and request process, ensuring needs are captured, prioritized, and planned effectively. The role also supports event forecasting, resource planning, and process standardization to create an efficient and service-oriented approach as organizational event needs continue to grow.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning and execution of internal turnkey events and departmental event requests
  • Support resource planning and cross-functional event calendars to help align organizational event needs
  • Oversee the event intake process while conducting planning meetings with internal departments to identify upcoming needs and improve event forecasting
  • Develop and maintain event planning tools, timelines, and operational processes that support consistency and efficient execution
  • Track event outcomes through post-event recaps and identify opportunities to strengthen processes and future
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Sports Management, or equivalent relevant experience
  • Two or more years of experience in event coordination, event operations, community outreach, or a related area
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to coordinate multiple projects and deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and departments
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation
  • Physical requirements include lifting up to 25 pounds and bending

Schedule

This is a full-time hourly position. The work schedule requires flexibility, including availability for events and game nights during evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Location

The primary work location is the Thunder corporate office at Paycom Center in downtown Oklahoma City, with some events requiring travel throughout the metro area. The work environment may include loud music, crowd noise, and outdoor work in both hot and cold weather conditions.
