About The Team

The S&P Global Ratings Event Marketing team manages more than 600 virtual and in‑person meetings, webinars, and third‑party events annually. These range from intimate 30‑person roundtables to multi‑day conferences with 600+ attendees. The team partners closely with Commercial, Analytical, Market Outreach, and Marketing stakeholders to deliver high‑impact, client‑centric events that reinforce Ratings’ market leadership. This role sits within a fast‑moving, highly collaborative environment where autonomy, initiative, and operational rigor are essential.

The Impact

You will serve as a trusted advisor and execution lead for event strategy and delivery across assigned sectors. This includes guiding stakeholders on target dates, agenda development, location selection, logistics, communications, and creative direction. You will architect repeatable processes, elevate operational excellence, and orchestrate complex multi‑workstream programs with precision. Your ability to integrate AI‑enabled tools, automation, and data-driven insights into event workflows will help modernize our execution and enhance client experience.

What’s In It For You

  • Exposure to senior Commercial and Analytical leaders across Ratings.
  • Ownership of high‑visibility events in New York and across the U.S.
  • A role designed for someone who thrives in autonomy, takes initiative, and can hit the ground running without heavy oversight.
  • Growth within a global marketing organization committed to innovation, creativity, and continuous improvement.
  • Access to modern event technology, AI‑driven tools, and automation platforms to streamline execution and elevate client engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Stakeholder Strategic Partner: Lead collaborative planning discussions with Commercial, Analytical, Market Outreach, and Marketing stakeholders across assigned sectors. Oversee hosted events and manage all contracted components of third‑party association events. Operate as a self‑starter who proactively identifies needs, proposes solutions, and drives execution without waiting for direction.
  • Event Logistics & Execution: Manage all aspects of event logistics, including vendor communication, registration, on‑site execution, staffing plans, attendee tracking, presentation support, materials, evaluations, room setup, food and beverage, and AV specifications. Develop competency with virtual event execution, including platform management, speaker coaching, compliance, and end‑to‑end production. Apply AI‑enabled tools for scheduling, attendee insights, workflow automation, and post‑event analytics.
  • Financial & Operational Management: Manage event budgets with strong financial oversight; negotiate optimal value for Ratings. Track and manage the event calendar, pipeline, and budget reporting. Create repeatable operational systems, templates, and processes that improve efficiency and reduce manual work.
  • Communications: Oversee pre‑ and post‑conference communications with clients and internal stakeholders. Coordinate communications with internal and external speakers. Review and contribute to event-related communications and invitations. Lead coordination with venues before and after events to ensure alignment and execution of excellence.
  • Sourcing & Vendor Management: Identify and source venues, restaurants, transportation providers, décor vendors, entertainment partners, promotional items, and AV/production partners. Review vendor contracts and provide detailed feedback to the Director, Event Marketing. Clearly communicate contractual terms, risks, and cancellation policies to stakeholders.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with global event marketing partners to align best practices and execution consistency across regions. Support email campaigns, marketing materials, and visual brand/event identity. Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, health, and safety requirements.
  • Mindset & Behaviors: Actively listen, seek diverse perspectives, and communicate clearly across audiences. Identify and resolve day‑to‑day problems with autonomy and initiative. Take an end‑to‑end view of event delivery, connecting daily work to broader business priorities. Demonstrate adaptability, creativity, and attention to detail—spotting issues others may miss. Collaborate effectively and operate as part of a broader system, not in isolation.

What We’re Looking For

  • A self‑starting executor who has built processes, standards, or repeatable playbooks from scratch.
  • Someone who has implemented ideas that became norms, trends, or best practices.
  • A candidate with meaningful events experience who can hit the ground running and operate with autonomy.
  • Strong operational rigor: multi‑project management, orchestration, detail orientation, and cross‑functional coordination.
  • Stability in career trajectory; not job‑hoppy.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Comfort using AI tools, automation platforms, and modern event technologies.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with flawless execution.

Basic Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously, especially during peak periods.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Highly organized with a strong sense of urgency and client focus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Final‑stage candidates must attend one in‑person interview at your nearest S&P Global Ratings office before offer.

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Cvent, On24, Marketo, Salesforce, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Suite or Canva.
  • Understanding of financial markets and the broader business environment.
  • Experience with sponsors, client relationships, and fulfillment.
  • Knowledge of New York City venues.
  • Experience in registration management and event marketing.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools for workflow automation, attendee engagement, or event analytics.
