About the Role
The Events Lead at Marquette Mountain Resort assists the Assistant General Manager with executing private events during the peak season, including weddings, family reunions, company parties, and other special celebrations. This role focuses on hands-on support in venue setup, food and beverage service, and guest hospitality to ensure seamless event operations.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with the Assistant General Manager to execute private events.
- Fulfills hands-on operational duties for private events as assigned.
- Assists with physical setup and breakdown of venues, including arranging tables, chairs, and directional signage according to event floor plans.
- Safely breaks down, clears, and stores venue furniture, equipment, and signage post-event.
- Helps serve meals, pass appetizers, and ensures buffet stations remain fully stocked, clean, and appetizing.
- Proactively clears and busses used dishes, glassware, and silverware from guest tables.
- Acts as a warm, welcoming, and professional point of contact for hosts and guests.
- Maintains venue cleanliness, including event spaces, restrooms, and common areas.
- Conducts site visits and meetings for prospective clients as assigned.
- Provides regular updates to management on private event bookings.
- Notifies management of customer specifications, needs, or any matters that may affect an event.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent (some college preferred).
- Experience using Gmail suite and basic office equipment.
- Effective business writing and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Self-directed with the ability to maximize time, resources, and technology.
- Must exemplify professional conduct and adhere to company Core Values.
Physical & Other Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and remain active on your feet for long periods (8+ hours per shift).
- Capable of sitting, talking, hearing, and using hands to handle or feel objects.
- Occasionally required to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds (e.g., tables, chairs, heavy service trays).
- Requires close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, as well as the ability to adjust focus.
- Weekend availability (including Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays) is mandatory.
- Must have an excellent attendance and conduct record.

Schedule
Temporary position until November 1st. Part-time (0-29 hours per week) with availability required for weekends, weekdays, weeknights, days, afternoons, and nights.
