About the Role
The Event Director serves in three key capacities:
- Year-round roles: Customer care, sales, marketing, recruiting, event logistics, and leading assigned areas.
- Event season preparation: Preparing for the summer season, focusing on customer care, SERVE demands, and ensuring the team and experience are ready by May.
- Summer Leadership: Leading alongside the Event Coordinator during the summer, engaging in spiritual development, on-site customer service, teaching, campus contact coordination, contract management, team development, public communication, and fulfilling brand promises.
This role is pivotal in enriching the lives of youth workers and serving churches and their leaders during the summer while building year-round relationships. The Event Director acts as an ambassador for GENERATE, representing both customers and staff with a ministry-minded, self-starting, and dynamic leadership approach.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a minister and spiritual leader.
- Assist in marketing efforts, including outbound communications to targeted regions.
- Participate in registration and camp preparation details.
- Engage in the GENERATE Summer Staff recruiting and hiring process.
- Lead on-site customer service alongside the Event Coordinator and YM360 leadership.
- Collaborate with the YM360 leadership team on campus contacts and event logistics.
- Act as a point of contact for summer communication with registered churches.
- Coordinate staff and participant details with campus contacts.
- Lead summer staff in spiritual and missional development.
- Teach Bible study to team staff with YM360 leadership.
- Lead Village leaders meetings and theme content with YM360 leadership.
- Lead Youth Ministers meetings with YM360 leadership.
- Assist in the design and execution of CONNECT curriculum.
- Manage assigned tasks related to SERVE.
- Oversee assigned budgets with YM360 leadership.
- Execute the Lead team development program at events.
- Provide customer service for all YM360-related matters.
- Respond to chats and phones as part of the Communications Team.
- Grow the GENERATE summer footprint and relationships with churches.
- Familiarize yourself with YM360 products and resources to assist consumers.
- Participate in YM360 tradeshow efforts and other events (e.g., CLEAR, trainings).
- Manage assigned areas of responsibility and monthly reports.
- Assist in fulfillment tasks as needed.
- Complete other assigned tasks.
Requirements
- College degree or higher.
- 2+ years of industry experience.
- Excellent writing and communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Proven leadership experience.
- Proficiency in multi-tasking and working in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to work both in groups and individually.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to deliver high customer service experiences.
Schedule
- Monday through Friday from the office in Hoover, Alabama (when not traveling).
- Summer season at camp locations.
