Event Associate

About the role

As the Event Associate, you’ll provide thoughtful product recommendations tailored to each athlete’s skill and experience level. You’ll support the Field/Lead Coach for in-store sport events—both on and off the field—and assist with DICK’S-sponsored camps, clinics, and programs, bringing your passion and expertise for sports to our experiential store.

Responsibilities

• Drive the highest level of customer service, ensuring teammates deliver hassle-free, engaging, athlete-first experiences.
• Assist the Field Lead/Coach with field programming, guiding athletes to participate safely and have fun.
• Build relationships with local schools, community organizations, sports leagues, and homeschool groups to create partnerships and field events.
• Collaborate with the Community Team to bring clinics, camps, and afterschool programs to the Field.
• Provide outstanding teammate training and coaching, including one-on-one conversations, group training sessions, and role-play exercises.
• Adjust priorities and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
• Adhere to all loss prevention standards.
• Promote company programs, including warranty sales, Scorecard (loyalty program), private-label credit cards, and seasonal promotions.
• Serve as a product expert, offering consultative advice to athletes and demonstrating excellent product knowledge.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years of customer service experience preferred.
• Customer-service oriented.
• Strong detail orientation.
