About the Venue
PeoplesBank Arena is also home to the AHL's Hartford Wolf Pack, the primary developmental affiliate of the New York Rangers. It entertains millions of visitors annually with a variety of concerts, family shows, and ice-skating spectaculars throughout the season. The venue has hosted world-renowned artists such as Sabrina Carpenter, Andrea Bocelli, Bad Bunny, Nicki Minaj, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Pearl Jam, and many others. PeoplesBank Arena will continue to be the center of sports and entertainment for Hartford and the State of Connecticut for years to come.
Responsibilities
- Aid in scheduling part-time staff, including sending out availability surveys and confirming schedules.
- Assist during events by coordinating tasks before, during, and after an event.
- Help set up the employee entrance door and sign in/out all staff members.
- Support Guest Services by assisting with guest inquiries.
- Distribute uniforms and equipment to staff.
- Collaborate with the Events department to create event one-sheets, staff deployment sheets, event data sheets, and more.
- Participate in the arena's lost & found program.
- Conduct pre-event building inspections.
- Attend weekly department meetings.
- Assist with daily tasks in the on-site parking garage.
- Support event managers in coordinating various event activities, including VIP and sponsorship activations.
- Assist in recruiting efforts and interviews.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Some completed college coursework with emphasis in event management, sport management, facility management, hospitality management, or a related field, preferred.
- One to two years of previous experience in an event-driven role at a stadium, arena, or similar.
- The ability to work weekdays, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- The ability to work during normal office hours (9:00am – 5:00pm), as well as event shifts.
- A demonstrated ability to function in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
- An exceptional ability to provide customer service, even in stressful situations.
- Proficiency with computers in a Windows format, including experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- A strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and ability to work independently.
- The capability to stand and walk for long periods of time, climb stairs, and occasionally lift heavy objects.
