Job Summary
Mobile Response provides immediate support for people experiencing a mental health crisis. The goal is to support and empower individuals to resolve crises safely, healthily, and effectively. The Mobile Response Practitioner is a Behavioral Health practitioner with specialized crisis response training. They assess, intervene, and stabilize clients in the community based on crisis plans. They handle mental health crisis calls, provide services, and develop treatment plans.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Provide mental health crisis assessment and stabilization services.
- Make referrals and provide supportive counseling and skills training.
- Collaborate with other service providers and educate family and significant others about mental illness.
- Complete mobile crisis risk assessments and gather information from collateral sources.
- Utilize the on-call professional for direction and support.
- Develop crisis treatment plans and set goals, objectives, and interventions with clients.
- Manage confidential information responsibly.
- Make decisions within the context of strategic vision and program requirements.
Requirements

Education and Experience
- Qualify as a mental health practitioner through relevant coursework or work experience.
- Complete additional training as required by state law.
- Have at least 2,000 hours of experience in delivering services to individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, traumatic brain injuries, or developmental disabilities.
- Be fluent in the non-English language of the ethnic group served, if applicable.
Physical Requirements
- Hear and speak to use telephones and communicate.
- Be able to travel to clients' locations.
- Review detailed reports and information visually.
- Use a computer for keyboarding.
- Manage stairs and ambulate freely.
- Be comfortable in various settings and manage stressful, chaotic situations calmly.
On-call Pay Rates
- Holiday On-call: $5.25 per hour.
- Face to Face: $175 per session.
- Phone Call: $40 per call.
- Stabilization: $40 per session.
Work Environment
The employee must be available and ready to respond to crisis situations on-call and must be able to meet clients in their home, office, or community if safe. Must be comfortable managing stressful and chaotic situations with a calm demeanor.
