Evening Tour Lead Conductor

As the Ghosts & Gravestones Lead Conductor, you’ll bring the eerie history of St. Augustine to life on our premier frightseeing tour. This role combines acting, historical interpretation, and leadership to entertain guests while supervising a team and ensuring smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist with researching and creating route changes for the nightly tour.
• Communicate with managers from other departments (Sales, HR, Safety, etc.) to ensure proper tour scheduling.
• Supervise employees, including scheduling, staff assignments, hiring, training, and yearly reviews.
• Maintain order when guiding crowds through the interior of venues.
• Address and resolve customer issues.
• Aid employees in developing historical characters and approve costumes, props, and dialects for historical accuracy and quality.
• Perform as a Ghost Host or Ghost Tour Driver when necessary.
• Assist in historical research, theatrical direction, scriptwriting, and prop/costume acquisition.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in acting, stagecraft, set design, directing, and creative writing.
• Interest in history is helpful.
• Valid Florida Class C or higher CDL with passenger endorsement (training provided; must obtain within the first month of employment).
• Acceptable driving record for the past three years.
• Must pass pre-employment MVR/background check, substance abuse testing, and DOT physical.

Skills

• Ability to motivate, develop, and direct people.
• Strong communication skills in English (reading, writing, and speaking).
• Ability to gather and analyze information, exercise sound judgment, and make timely decisions.
• Capacity to memorize scripts and stage directions while working safely in themed costumes.
