Position Description

We are seeking a friendly and compassionate receptionist to join our skilled nursing facility. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for residents, families, and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment.

Responsibilities

  • Greeting guests
  • Answering calls
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Assisting with administrative tasks
  • Maintaining positive relationships with residents, families, staff, physicians, consultants, providers, and governmental agencies
  • Explaining and orienting residents to facility services
  • Resolving customer requests, questions, and complaints
  • Serving as liaison between residents and other departments
  • Conducting inquiries on customer satisfaction
  • Identifying, researching, and resolving customer concerns
  • Reporting trends to Quality Assurance Committee
  • Following up on customer inquiries not immediately resolved
  • Coordination of discharge planning with resident, family, rehab, nursing, and referrals to agencies
  • Arranging for consults for residents annually or as needed
  • Serving as a role model for superb customer service
  • Ensuring adherence to Federal and State regulations, including participation in survey process and correction of deficiencies
  • Completing clerical work for administrative and facility personnel
  • Opening, delivering, and forwarding mail
  • Transcribing materials
  • Recording appointments and meetings for administrative staff
  • Filing necessary documents
  • Answering telephone and directing caller to correct station
  • Referring to nursing home directory to ascertain station number of persons requested
  • Taking messages for staff members
  • Answering questions of callers according to nursing home policy
  • Announcing notifications over public address system
  • Updating resident directory including resident's names, room locations, and telephone extensions
  • Arranging for service of office equipment
  • Supporting business office functions as needed
  • Receiving payments for services rendered and recording amount received
  • Distributing petty cash and making change
  • Preparing and distributing receipts for monies received
  • Passing out and collecting employment applications

Qualifications

  • High school Diploma required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft office: Word, Excel and Outlook

Hours

Hours: 3pm-7pm; Weekends are 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm)
