About the role
The primary purpose of this role is to manage retail operations during evening hours, impacting store associates, merchandise quality, and customer service. This involves building associate and customer relations, ensuring store conditions are maintained, and managing store assets.
Responsibilities

- Ensure store conditions are maintained at the highest level
- Control company assets
- Build associate and customer relations
- Promote a strong culture in support of Hannaford Strategy
- Lead and manage associates throughout multiple departments
- Ensure store appearance and presentation
- Manage performance of evening shift associates
- Support the development needs of evening store associates
- Maintain techniques and layouts of merchandise consistent with corporate philosophy
- Resolve inventory shrink issues in assigned departments
- Use company tools such as MPP, financial reports, scheduling, ordering, and business information systems
- Communicate effectively with management team, associates, and throughout the organization
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques
- Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to learn and manage multiple tasks
- Demonstrated good judgment in problem-solving, decision-making, handling complaints, and resolving grievances
- Desire and ability to lead and manage associates throughout multiple departments
- Department Manager or equivalent experience required
- College degree or equivalent preferred
- Accredited by the National Registry of Food Safety Professionals or similar organization as a "Certified Food Safety Manager" or required to attend company training and achieve accreditation within 90 days of employment
Physical Requirements
- Ability to use computers and communication systems
- Lift up to 20 lbs. regularly, including overhead lifting and up to 60 lbs. occasionally
- Push/pull up to 40 lbs. regularly
- Meet established volume and fixed activity standards
