Evening Custodian at Carson Elementary

Shift: 2:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m. (subject to change). Location: Carson Elementary School, Eastlake Learning Community. Hourly rate: $32.39. This position is eligible for membership in the International Union of Operating Engineers Local No. 286.

About the Role

Responsible for sanitation, maintenance, safety, comfort, and security of school or district building to create and maintain a safe and pleasant environment for students and staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma, G.E.D., or work experience related to core functions of the position
• Valid driver’s license
• Must pass a post-employment physical and criminal background check

Working Environment

In an 8-hour workday:

• Occasionally (1-33%): sit; lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
• Frequently (34-66%): lift and/or carry up to 25 lbs.; bend, squat, crawl, climb, reach above shoulder level, twist; use both hands for repetitive grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulating
• Continuously (67-100%): walk and stand

Occasional exposure to unprotected heights, dust, fumes, gases, commercial-strength chemicals, marked changes in temperature/humidity, and moving machinery. The job requires approximately 65% walking, 20% standing, and 15% sitting.
