Evaporator Operator

Darigold is seeking an Evaporator Operator to join our Pasco, WA plant team. The evaporator operator is responsible for operating milk processing equipment according to standard operating procedures, completing all required paperwork, and maintaining accurate records.

Responsibilities

• Operate milk processing equipment including evaporators, separators/clarifiers, dryer concentrate equipment, and all associated equipment.
• Maintain efficiency standards for the operating area and contribute improvement ideas and waste‑reduction initiatives.
• Perform CIP and sanitation of equipment in the evaporator and dryer concentrate areas, keep the work area organized, and conduct ongoing cleaning and preventative maintenance in compliance with good manufacturing practices.
• Operate processing equipment to achieve and maintain finished‑product results within target specifications.
• Perform quality and component tests on milk constituents in accordance with company or regulatory guidelines.
• Conduct routine equipment inspections and ensure proper tagging and identification of tanks.
• Maintain accurate documentation and submit timely and accurate reports.
• Assist with training new personnel.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow all company safety, working, and GMP policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• At least 1 year of production experience (preferred).
• Ability to work independently without direct supervision in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to work multiple shifts in a 24/7 operation, including weekends and holidays, with high attendance standards.
• Capability to lift up to 55 pounds and stand or walk for twelve or more hours.
• Ability to climb stairs.
• Ability to obtain and maintain certifications for pasteurizing equipment and any other regulatory agency requirements.
• Strong attention to detail; able to complete multiple and repetitive tasks accurately.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong computer skills for reporting and HMI screen management.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous dairy processing or food manufacturing experience.
• Ability to monitor several concurrent processes simultaneously.
• Mechanical skills and experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to respond to variances in the process, organize and analyze process problems.

Pay

$27.19 to $28.28 per hour
