Estimator - Public/Private Projects up to $30M (Western, MA)

Our client is a full-service general contracting company founded in 1897 and has been handed down from generation to generation. They pride themselves on their community-involved culture and massive volumes of repeat business, building public and private projects including DPWs, fire stations, police stations, town halls, and other community structures ranging from $1M–$30M. They bid on projects weekly, achieved about $50M in revenue this year, and have a project pipeline and backlog of $60M for 2024.

About the role

The Construction Estimator will accurately assess and estimate costs for public and private construction projects, ensuring efficient planning and execution. You will collaborate closely with the project management team and other key stakeholders, analyze project requirements, interpret blueprints, and produce comprehensive estimates aligned with client expectations and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Analyze project specifications and blueprints to determine project requirements and scope
• Conduct thorough cost analysis for materials, labor, equipment, and other relevant factors
• Collaborate with vendors and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and quotes
• Prepare detailed and accurate estimates
• Participate in pre-bid meetings

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years as a Construction Estimator in public/commercial construction or related projects
• Strong proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent analytic and mathematical skills with attention to detail
• Ability to interpret construction documents and blueprints
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with team members, clients, and subcontractors
• Strong organizational skills
