Our Client is seeking an experienced Mitigation & Construction Estimator to join its restoration team. This senior-level estimating position is responsible for creating and managing detailed estimates for residential, commercial, and industrial restoration projects while overseeing projects from initial inspection through completion.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate multi-level and roof sketches using Xactimate Sketch.
- Develop detailed and accurate scopes of work with minimal overages or shortages.
- Create complete floor plans and estimate documentation utilizing Xactimate.
- Maintain working knowledge of local and applicable building codes.
- Develop and manage project budgets while identifying and addressing cost variances.
- Follow company estimating standards and naming conventions for estimates, revisions, proposals, and change orders.
- Write and run scope and follow up on all jobs through completion.
- Maintain construction schedules while coordinating with subcontractors, trades, and project management.
- Identify scheduling challenges and recommend solutions to maintain project timelines.
- Demonstrate expertise in mitigation procedures including source removal, containment, decontamination, ventilation, structural drying, deodorization, and contents restoration.
- Perform investigative demolition and controlled demolition when required.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and advanced estimating training.
- Independently manage estimating workload and multiple active projects.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and maintain company vehicle in a clean and safe condition.
- Complete all accident, injury, and incident reports accurately and on time.
- Utilize strong analytical, budgeting, and problem-solving skills throughout each project.
- Maintain excellent communication with customers, adjusters, vendors, and internal teams.
- Participate in continuing education and company training programs.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives while adhering to company policies and safety standards.
- Develop and maintain relationships with insurance adjusters, property managers, commercial clients, municipalities, schools, and referral partners.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, adjusters, consultants, and project stakeholders.
- Accurately identify site-specific conditions and prepare detailed project scopes.
- Negotiate project scope and pricing with customers and insurance carriers.
- Produce accurate estimates across all construction trades using estimating software.
- Coordinate emergency response services including board-ups, fire damage, water damage, smoke damage, and vandalism response.
- Recognize potential environmental hazards including asbestos, lead paint, mold, and other contaminants.
- Maintain professionalism, responsiveness, and exceptional customer service throughout every project.
- Work efficiently under deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
- Attend all required operational, estimating, and safety training.
Requirements
- 3+ years of construction, restoration, or contents estimating experience.
- Residential estimating experience exceeding $50,000 project values.
- Commercial estimating experience exceeding $100,000 project values.
- Restoration and mitigation experience (required).
- Xactimate experience (required).
- Successful completion of advanced estimating training preferred.
- National pricing and material invoicing experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of building construction methods and restoration practices.
- Extensive customer service experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Professional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams.
- Knowledge of MSDS/SDS documentation and jobsite safety requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Frequently lift 50+ pounds without assistance.
- Sit for extended periods while preparing estimates and documentation.
- Perform repetitive keyboarding and computer work.
- Bend, crouch, climb, kneel, and stand as necessary during site inspections.
Pay
Competitive salary - $70,000-$90,000 DOE
