Mitigation Estimator
Position Summary
As a Mitigation Estimator / File Quality Specialist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring restoration projects are accurately documented, properly scoped, and efficiently transitioned from mitigation to invoicing. This position combines restoration estimating, documentation quality control, and insurance coordination to support smooth project execution and timely billing.
Key Responsibilities

Coverage of real-time mitigation file reviews using systems such as MICA/MITIGATE, DASH, and Docusketch.

Verification of scope accuracy, completeness of documentation, and proper capture of field data.

Identification of documentation deficiencies that may delay billing, impact claim approval, or require return visits.

Performance of comprehensive audits of job files to ensure compliance with company procedures and insurance carrier requirements.

Review and organization of file notes, photographs, moisture documentation, and supporting records.

Preparation and review of detailed mitigation estimates using field documentation, Docusketch data, and restoration software.

Development and review of detailed mitigation estimates in Xactimate.

Aid in supplement preparation and communication with insurance carriers when necessary.

Support timely invoicing and revenue cycle management through accurate scope development.

Cohesion with mitigation, production, and administrative teams to ensure seamless project transitions.

Professional communication with customers, adjusters, and internal teams.

Maintenance of accurate documentation and records within company systems.
Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

2+ years of restoration, construction estimating, or related industry experience preferred.

Experience with insurance-based estimating and Xactimate required.

Familiarity with water, fire, mold, or storm restoration processes.

Understanding of residential and light commercial construction methods and materials.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).

Experience with Docusketch, MICA, DASH, or similar restoration systems is a plus.

Compensation
Competitive Pay: Depending on experience
