Key Responsibilities
- Analyze civil, architectural, landscape, and irrigation plans and specifications.
- Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Develop conceptual, schematic, design development (DD), and construction document (CD) estimates.
- Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor pricing.
- Review project specifications, bid documents, RFIs, and addenda.
- Identify value engineering opportunities and cost-saving solutions.
- Lead bid preparation and RFP responses from start to finish.
- Collaborate closely with project managers to ensure a seamless transition from estimating to project execution.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of commercial landscape construction estimating experience (senior-level experience preferred).
- Experience estimating commercial, multifamily, municipal, education, healthcare, hospitality, mixed-use, or public works landscape projects.
- Strong understanding of landscape construction methods, irrigation systems, hardscape, concrete, planting, grading, and site development.
- Ability to interpret civil, landscape, and irrigation drawings and specifications.
- Experience with quantity takeoffs, subcontractor solicitation, bid leveling, and cost analysis.
- Proficiency with estimating software such as Bluebeam, PlanSwift, On-Screen Takeoff (OST), STACK, or similar platforms.
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
