Estimator III (Hybrid Agawam)

Description

OVERVIEW

Cadrex is searching for an Estimator III who will be responsible for evaluating quote requests and creating timely and accurate cost estimates for parts and assemblies.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage large quote packages and necessary resources
• Lead and develop continuous improvement projects or ideas
• Manage open RFQs and distribution of quoting activities for the Estimating team
• Perform cost analysis and account profitability reviews and provide feedback to management related to suggested actions
• Avoidoversee departmental metric tracking and reactionary efforts related to metric status
• Avoidassist Sales and Customer Service in the management of key accounts
• Avoidassist in the daily management, development of and training the Estimating Department employees as directed by the Engineering Manager
• AvoidReview and evaluate requests for quotes; prepare work to be estimated by gathering proposals, prints, part models, specifications, and related documents
• AvoidWork with the sales team and customers to thoroughly understand customer requirements
• AvoidIdentify labor, material, finish, and time requirements by studying proposals, prints, specifications, and related documents
• AvoidCompute costs by analyzing labor, material, finish, and time requirements
• AvoidResolve discrepancies by collecting and analyzing relevant data
• AvoidPresent prepared quotes by assembling and displaying numerical pricing and descriptive information
• AvoidEnsure that quality requirements, part prints, part models, specifications and other pertinent information is available and shared with necessary departments
• AvoidAssist procurement in obtaining pricing for materials, components, and subcontracted processes
• AvoidMaintain cost database by entering data
• AvoidReview and understand job costing; suggest changes
• AvoidActively seek opportunities to increase sales by offering additional services to customers

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Average 7+ years’ related experience and/or training in CNC machining and metal fabrication in A/D manufacturing
• Able to read and interpret documents such as blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• CNC programming software
• Averagehigh level math and financial acumen with analytical mindset
• AverageExperience with conceptual and detailed measurement/pricing
• AveragePossess well-developed and demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills
• AverageExcellent organizational skills
• AverageSelf-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision, while managing multiple projects
• AveragePC knowledge/computer literate; including the ability to work with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.), e-mail, estimating software and use the Internet
