About the role

VCI Construction is an underground and aerial contractor specializing in full-service installation of “dry” utilities, including voice, video, and data transmission systems. Known for quality service and performance, VCI offers a stable, well-respected, financially sound company with a highly experienced management team.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain strong customer relationships.
• Attend pre-bid meetings and investigate project sites.
• Review and understand all bid documents, including plans and specifications.
• Conduct accurate material take-offs and request quotes from subcontractors and vendors.
• Negotiate purchase orders and coordinate subcontractors.
• Review final bids with senior management.
• Affirm permits, licenses, and prepare project submittals.
• Manage project turnover meetings, foreman's packs, and change order tracking.
• Develop and coordinate production tracking and prepare project schedules.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• 5 to 7 years’ experience in underground dry utility pipeline construction.
• Knowledge and experience in Bid2Win (B2W) a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project).
• Valid California Driver’s License.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both written and oral forms (bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus).
• Ability to quickly adapt by learning new skills and unlearning outdated ones.
• Experience in the development and construction of other telecom/data infrastructures domestically or abroad is a plus.

Qualifications

The wage range for Estimator I is $75,000.00 - $90,000.00.
