Estimator
Job Description
Develop accurate, detailed project estimates and formal bids.
Interface directly with customers, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Identify the full scope of work and proactively address potential issues before submission.
Cookordination and conduct job site walks.
Prepare pricing request documents for subcontractors.
Draft contracts and negotiate revisions or changes as needed.
Assist in preparing rough project schedules.
Transition awarded projects to operations with complete documentation for kickoff.
Maintain and grow relationships with key customers and industry professionals.
Participate in networking events to expand referral opportunities.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of building design, components, and assemblies in both residential and commercial construction industries.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, designs, and specifications.
- Proficient computer skills with experience in Excel, Outlook, PlanSwift, and SketchUp preferred.
- Ability to interface with both customers and suppliers with strong organizational skills.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
Experience: 5+ years of related experience is preferred.
Education: Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required.
Pay
$70,000 to $75,000/year
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm (Weekends as needed)
