About the role
The University Facilities Design & Construction Department seeks an estimating professional to produce timely, accurate project cost estimates in a standardized CSI format by utilizing historical data, unit pricing, subcontractor/vendor proposals and other industry methods, while assuring the safe and unrestricted pursuit of the University’s overall mission.
Ongoing responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Accurately prepare a detailed cost breakdown of all aspects of proposed facilities projects including but not limited to quantity take offs, detailed cost estimate line items, labor hour reports and applicable escalations/contingencies by division at each phase of the design and construction process.
- Cookordinate and communicate on a variety of projects including in-house design/build renovation work, critical maintenance projects, and capital-funded design/bid/build work.
- Advanced interpersonal skills are necessary to educate clients, align expertise with needs, partner with outside agencies, contribute to design, and coordinate with the project team.
- Analyze and maintain historical costs to refine estimating methodologies and continuously drive improvements in baseline accuracy.
- Collaborate with leadership to prioritize project work and forecast appropriate levels for staffing needs and project funding and serve as a subject matter expert to their University Facilities peers as well as the needs of the University community at large.

Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field with 2 years minimum experience. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the degree.
Advanced oral, written, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.
Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse group of staff at all levels of an organization.
A valid Class D driver’s license to operate a motor vehicle is required or candidate must otherwise demonstrate their capacity to meet the transportation requirements of the position.
