Estimator

Responsibilities

• Analyzes blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for hard metal parts.
• Creates and maintains manufacturing Routings and Bills of Materials for production of Aerospace components.
• Ensures adherence to safety regulation and standard.
• Follows Safety culture and wears Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when required.
• Responsible for acknowledging Request for Quotes (RFQ’s), reviewing, and interpreting technical data.
• Gathers info and quotes from vendors.
• Prepares complete quote packages for approval and review.
• Follows 6S Procedures and maintains a clean organized work area.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience of estimating in aerospace field REQUIRED.
• Ability to effectively communicate both written and verbally.
• Excellent Interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Time Management skills to meet the demand of the customer.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities.
• Ability to read and interpret customer Blueprints, Specifications and Manufacturing Processes.
• Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Working knowledge of procedures including BOM creation and estimating.
• Well organized, self-directed.
• Familiar with machine capabilities and related processes.
• Experience in Process Engineering preferred.

Working Conditions

• Normal Production environments, subject to high noise levels from operating machines;
• Physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts;
• Breathing fumes, dust, and mist;
• Skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid;
• Exposure to sharp metal edges;
• May be asked to travel back and forth between Southwick and Westfield facilities.

Physical Requirements

• Must have ability to read applicable customer documents with or without corrective lenses.
• May have to lift up to thirty (20) pounds at a time, as required.
• Must be able to push, pull, reach overhead, stand, walk, climb stairs, bend and/or sit for long periods of time.
