Major Areas Of Responsibilities
- Request, review, and evaluate bid packages.
- Attend pre-bid meetings or walk-throughs as necessary.
- Analyze drawings and other construction documents to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Solicit and review pricing from vendors and subcontractors.
- Provide value-engineering options as necessary.
- Compile estimates and detailed bid proposals.
- Follow-up timely on bids submitted.
- Attend scope reviews meetings to discuss scope of work with general contractors and have ability to sell.
- Coordinate with Project Manager, Project Coordinator, and Contract Administrator.
- Participate in kick-off meetings to transition job to Project Coordinator and Project Manager.
- Aid in vendor negotiations.
- Build strong positive relationships with customers, vendors, and company personnel.
- Research questions as they arise.
- Help to maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
- Increase bid win percentage, bid revenue, and gross profit on jobs year after year.
- Build relationships with General Contractors, Consultants, and Architects in order to build a book of business.
- RFI/RFP process.
- Addendums.
Requirements
- Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Interior Design, Engineering, Finance, or related discipline.
- 5+ years Project Management or Estimating role in the construction industry.
- Must complete CFSP Test within first 3 years of employment.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Ability to work with MS Office, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc. and construction management software.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities Required:
- Proactive, self-starter.
- Strong understanding of construction operations and strategy and ability to make a practical application to realistic schedules.
- Strong knowledge of construction practices, activities, and principles.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks concurrently.
- Ability to communicate effectively; both orally and in writing.
