APAC-Central, Inc. is a CRH company dedicated to producing and providing crushed aggregate materials, sand, ready-mix concrete, asphalt, and performing as a regional heavy highway/infrastructure construction firm serving Arkansas, Oklahoma, and southern Missouri. Responsibilities

  • Strategic Analysis & Estimation: Dive deep into blueprints, specifications, proposals, and site conditions to define the full scope of work. Prepare accurate takeoffs and quantify requirements for materials, equipment, labor, and production.
  • Create detailed estimates for self-performed work, ensuring precision and clarity in every bid.
  • Actively cultivate and expand our customer base, leveraging your sales acumen to initiate new opportunities and build enduring relationships.
  • Proactively seek out bid opportunities through established networks. Prepare winning bid packages, analyze subcontractor quotes for projects of varying sizes and complexity.
  • Efficiently manage and bid multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating superior organizational and time management skills.
  • Engage with clients, vendors, the Lead Estimator, and other stakeholders to discuss project requirements, refine estimates, and present compelling proposals.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, update schedules, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resources with the Construction Manager—ensuring project milestones are met and exceeded.
  • Oversee all contracted projects, champion safety practices, develop and update schedules, assist forepersons with payroll and progress reporting, and generate monthly billings.
  • Review job costs on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, working closely with commercial crews to optimize performance, manage and price change orders, and oversee subcontractors and vendors.
  • Foster open communication with owners and/or prime contractors, ensuring their needs are understood and exceeded throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assess job progress and production versus estimates, collaborating with the Lead Estimator and others to identify opportunities for enhancement.
  • Aid the Lead Estimator on additional projects, field measurements, mileage assessments, and material sourcing as needed.
  • Utilize advanced software tools including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, HCSS Heavy Bid, ViewPoint, Primavera, and Trimble, maintaining up-to-date capabilities in technology-driven project management.
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performance team environment, providing strong leadership and support to colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Tackle other duties assigned by supervisors, demonstrating flexibility and a commitment to the organization’s goals.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is strongly preferred. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered for outstanding candidates.
  • At least five years of experience in construction, paving, and/or estimating, with a track record of successful project delivery and client satisfaction.

Physical & Work Environment Requirements

  • Frequently required to climb, balance, and perform tasks involving physical agility.
  • Regularly sit, climb, and use hand signals or equipment; occasionally stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, crouch, or reach above shoulder height.
  • Lift and move objects weighing up to 25-50 lbs as needed.
  • Work primarily outdoors, often in extreme weather and environmental conditions.
  • Comfortable working in all weather conditions; exposed to jobsite hazards such as moving machinery, high places, airborne particles, and loud environments.
