Responsibilities
- Utilize tools and templates for bid analysis and cost management.
- Engage and manage third-party Quantity Surveyor vendors.
- Work seamlessly with multi-disciplinary teams, both internal and external, on a global scale.
- Communicate cost control goals to all stakeholders effectively.
- Identify Value Engineering opportunities in the design and quantify the savings.
- Identify project risks and communicate financial cost impacts to the broader team.
- Update the repository for historical data.
- Define and track cost performance metrics.
- Analyze and provide timely feedback on Construction vendor proposals using benchmark data.
- Create accurate bid leveling documents.
- Validate the final award amount and scope based on contract documents, including the schedule.
- Implement, maintain, and execute all cost control, change management, progress, and performance reporting.
- Validate change cost impacts.
- Ensure vendor invoices are accurate and timely.
- Support the construction team with project close-out and final payments.
- Deliver results for multiple projects with competing priorities consistently.
Requirements
- 5 years of estimating experience.
- Experience with commercial, industrial, warehouse, or distribution projects.
- Proficiency in construction estimating and general contractor estimating.
- Experience utilizing Destini Estimating software; Bluebeam is also acceptable.
- Working MEP knowledge is required to support high-level cost reviews and reports.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
Essential Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with estimating software such as CostX, Cubit, Onscreen Takeoff, Timberline, and Bluebeam.
- Experience reviewing and justifying budgets.
- Experience communicating estimate strategy to construction and non-construction professionals.
- Experience working with global technology companies preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially as a power user.
