Estimator
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for materials, labor, equipment, subcontracts, and construction facilities.
- Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Attend on-site pre-bid/proposal conferences and site visits.
- Develop and review subcontractor scopes of work; accept, review, and analyze subcontractor quotes for best value.
- Prepare project bid status reports and ensure compliance with all specifications, contract Statements of Work, and Bid Invitations.
- Present cost estimates to meet customer proposals, considering general and special conditions.
- Prepare scope specifications and requirements; input project schedules; perform quantity takeoffs; prepare cost summary sheets; and input quantities into estimating software.
- Maintain an accurate, current database of cost codes/accounts for historical data.
- Utilize appropriate company and industry historical data for pricing estimates.
Requirements
- 4-year degree in building construction, engineering, or a construction-related field.
- 7–10 years of related estimating experience.
- Advanced project estimator skills, including value engineering calculations.
- Familiarity with engineering nomenclature to communicate effectively with Application Engineers, Product Managers, Project Managers, Engineering, and vendors.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Able to read, understand, and organize construction plans and specifications.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Able to work independently.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and work well under pressure to meet established deadlines.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Project, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and database software.
Qualifications
- Experience in construction, real estate, and multifamily projects.
- Familiarity with real estate development, apartment buildings, and general contractor/subcontractor management.
- Experience in site construction, project management, construction supervision, and ground-up projects.
- Skills in bidding, business development, preconstruction, site development, tenant improvement, and tenant fit-out.
- Knowledge of leasing, estimation, and RFP processes.
Pay and Benefits
