Responsibilities
- Carry out independent cost reviews and validate estimates from architects, contractors, and consultants.
- Perform periodic assessments of project budgets to ensure accuracy and feasibility.
- Verify cost reasonableness and identify scope gaps in project documentation.
- Maintain consistency with current market conditions and District cost standards.
- Support Program Managers in tracking program-wide cost trends and ensuring budget alignment.
Qualifications
Estimator I
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field preferred
- 1-2 years of relevant experience in construction cost estimating
- Basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices, including design, construction, and project management
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic project management software
Estimator II
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in construction cost estimating
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as AutoCAD, Primavera, or MS Project
- Able to work independently and as part of a team, with strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Knowledge of industry standards, codes, and regulations, including safety and environmental requirements
Senior Estimator
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or related field. PE preferred
- 6-8+ years of relevant experience in construction cost estimating
- Extensive experience in project management and team leadership, with a proven ability to deliver complex projects on time and within budget
- Excellent client management and negotiation skills, with the ability to represent the company in high-stakes situations
- Strong strategic thinking and business development skills, with the ability to identify and pursue new opportunities
Pay
- Estimator Level I: $60,000 - $80,000
- Estimator Level II: $90,000 - $110,000
- Senior Estimator: $115,000 - $200,000
