Entry Level Estimator

Duties, Responsibilities & Other

• Thoroughly review bid documents, plans, specifications, and project scope to accurately assess project requirements.
• Perform detailed quantity take-offs for various project elements utilizing industry standard software.
• Aid in the development of detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs utilizing HCSS HeavyBid software.
• Collaborate with estimating team members to brainstorm and develop cost-effective solutions to project challenges.
• Aid in the preparation of CPM project schedules.
• Conduct project site visits to gather necessary data, including measurements, sketches, notes, and photographs.
• Develop CAD drawings depicting construction methodology concepts.
• Stay updated on industry trends, construction costs, and emerging technologies.
• Achieve or exceed budget utilization targets.
• Comply with all KCI policies and procedures.
• Ensure projects comply with ISO standards.

Qualifications

• 0-2 Years of experience within the heavy civil industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Excellent public speaking, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Good communication and technical writing skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically.
