Estimating Manager

About the Role

The Estimating Manager leads the overall management of the bid process for projects. This role involves understanding deliverables, developing work plans, identifying required resources, and coordinating with internal teams to ensure compliance with Request for Proposals (RFP).

Responsibilities

• Leads bid/GMP assembly with minimal guidance; manages all bid day activities including compiling deliverables and submitting responses.
• Prepares detailed estimates at all phases of design; proficient in divisions 3–16 (including division 2 for Base Building).
• Manages all bid day activities, including compiling deliverables and submitting responses.
• Leads and coordinates scope writing and qualification development; manages and coordinates divisions 2, 15, and 16.
• Leads constructability reviews; develops specific systems analyses and creates Value Engineering and Alternates lists/logs.
• Assists with strategy development for GMPs and competitive bids.
• Participates in project meetings and client presentations; attends pre-bid meetings and leads trade partner walk-throughs; leads bid presentations.
• Owns responsibility for overall trade partner/supplier coverage, effective communication, and management; identifies and aligns the most qualified trade partners for the market sector and scope.
• Manages the overall document distribution process (RFIs, Addenda, etc.).
• Counsels, educates, and coaches staff to develop necessary job skills.
• Builds relationships with trade partners, suppliers, clients, and design teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, architecture, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• At least five (5) years of experience in estimating for commercial construction.
• Experience leading bids and trade coordination.
• Knowledge of principles and practices of engineering and construction management, including safety, quality, constructability, and sustainability standards.
• Leadership-level communication and organization skills.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $105,000.00 - $135,000.00.
