About the Role
The Estimating Manager will lead the estimating department, responsible for overseeing all aspects of cost estimation for construction projects. This role involves collaborating with project teams to ensure accurate and competitive bids while effectively managing budgets and preconstruction activities.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the estimating team, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of estimates for multi-family and commercial construction projects.
- Develop and implement estimating procedures and best practices to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
- Review project plans, specifications, and drawings to prepare detailed cost estimates and take-offs.
- Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders during the preconstruction phase to understand project requirements and budget constraints.
- Prepare and present bid proposals for various construction projects, ensuring compliance with client's requirements and industry standards.
- Monitor and analyze past project data to refine estimating methodologies and improve future bids.
- Utilize Procore and other estimating software to maintain accurate and organized records of bids and projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating roles, with at least 2 years in a managerial capacity.
- Strong knowledge of commercial and multi-family construction processes and methodologies.
- Proficiency in using estimating software, including Procore, and other construction management tools.
- Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage a team and liaise with clients and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
