Responsibilities

  • Assist attorneys with all phases of estate planning, probate administration, and trust administration matters.
  • Prepare estate planning documents, including:
    • Revocable and irrevocable trusts
    • Wills
    • Durable powers of attorney
    • Healthcare surrogate designations
    • Living wills and related documents
  • Draft and prepare probate pleadings, petitions, notices, inventories, accountings, and supporting court filings.
  • Coordinate and manage probate and trust administration matters from opening through closing.
  • Prepare and electronically file documents with Florida courts.
  • Gather, organize, and maintain estate and trust asset information.
  • Communicate regularly with personal representatives, trustees, beneficiaries, financial institutions, accountants, and other professional advisors.
  • Assist with estate funding, asset transfers, and beneficiary designations.
  • Manage attorney calendars, deadlines, and court requirements.
  • Conduct factual research and assist with client intake and estate administration procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with firm procedures and applicable probate court rules.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3+ years of estate planning and probate paralegal experience, preferably in a Florida law firm.
  • Required experience handling Florida probate administrations.
  • Strong knowledge of probate court procedures, estate administration, and trust administration.
  • Experience drafting probate pleadings and estate planning documents.
  • Familiarity with Florida e-Filing requirements and probate court systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal practice management software.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and client service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Paralegal certificate preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Experience with taxable estates, trust funding, and advanced estate planning matters.
  • Familiarity with fiduciary accounting and estate asset administration.
  • Experience working with high-net-worth individuals and families.

Pay

$60,000 - $75,000 per year
