Responsibilities
- Draft and prepare a wide range of estate planning documents, including revocable trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, deeds, and related materials.
- Cook up and review estate planning documents to ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment with attorney recommendations.
- Serve as a primary resource for WealthCounsel drafting software, including troubleshooting issues, developing customized drafting solutions, and helping maintain internal templates.
- Aid in workflow management and provide guidance to contract and junior paralegals throughout the drafting process.
- Communicate directly with clients to collect information, answer questions, request documentation, and provide status updates.
- Obtain and review property records and related documentation.
- Prepare, file, and record deeds and other real estate transfer documents, while coordinating with county recording offices as needed.
- Help maintain efficient case progression from initial drafting through document completion and execution.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of estate planning paralegal experience.
- Strong experience drafting trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related estate planning documents.
- Demonstrated proficiency with WealthCounsel is preferred.
- Ability to independently manage a substantial workload with limited supervision.
- Prior experience mentoring, training, or coordinating the work of other paralegals is preferred.
- Paralegal certificate or equivalent combination of education and relevant legal experience.
