Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years of work experience as an attorney
  • Substantial experience in sophisticated estate and wealth transfer planning, including advanced gifting strategies, sophisticated estate planning documents, irrevocable trust planning, generation-skipping transfer tax planning, business succession planning, estate and trust administration, and the preparation and review of federal gift and estate tax returns
  • Experience with charitable planning, fiduciary matters, and advising fiduciaries and closely held business owners
  • Knowledge of asset protection, family office structures, fiduciary services, partnership and corporate tax matters, and related tax and succession planning strategies, as well as relevant knowledge of partnership taxation and business entities
  • Strong technical knowledge of estate, gift, and GST tax matters
  • Excellent drafting and analytical skills
  • Strong client relationship and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage matters independently and collaboratively
  • North Carolina bar admission, or ability to become licensed in North Carolina
