Estate Planning Attorney

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and finalize estate planning documents including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and advance healthcare directives.
• Advise clients on tax implications, strategies for asset protection, and other legal considerations related to estate planning.
• Absorb and assist clients with probate and trust administration processes.
• Handle a diverse caseload and be available for any client needs.
• Stay up to date on changes in federal and state estate planning laws and regulations to provide timely and effective counsel.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Maintain exceptional professionalism and confidentiality in all communications.
• Demonstrate ability to anticipate client needs.
• Work independently and within a team environment.
• Be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and have experience with legal practice management software such as Smokeball.

Minimum Job Requirements

• At least 5 years of relevant experience in estate planning and probate law.
• A portable book of business or trusted client base is preferred.
• Must be bar admitted and able to practice law in the State of Illinois.
