ESOL Instructor Refugee Services (FT $23.00/Hour)

Responsibilities

• Create lesson plans and directly teach adults who speak English as a second language.
• Assess students using standardized tools to determine their English language proficiency level and make appropriate adjustments.
• Network within Catholic Charities and with external service providers to offer referrals that meet the needs of program participants and promote program objectives.
• Timely record-keeping is essential to meet funding source guidelines.
• Supervise and provide guidelines to staff and volunteers.
• Recruit and evaluate program participants, monitor their progress, and make recommendations for appropriate classes.
• Maintain accountability for all participants, staff, and volunteers.
• Serve as a professional role model.
• Collaborate effectively with other project staff.
• Comply with funding source guidelines and Catholic Charities policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• TESOL degree, and/or TESOL certification from a state licensing agency.
• Minimum of two years of experience in TESOL instruction in a classroom setting with a structured curriculum.
• Valid N.Y.S. Driver's License.
• NYS driver's license check.
• State Central Register Clearance.

Pay

Pay for this Position is $23.00 Per Hour.
