ESOL Instructor Refugee Services (FT $23.00/Hour)
Responsibilities
- Create lesson plans and directly teach adults who speak English as a second language.
- Assess students using standardized tools to determine their English language proficiency level and make appropriate adjustments.
- Network within Catholic Charities and with external service providers to offer referrals that meet the needs of program participants and promote program objectives.
- Timely record-keeping is essential to meet funding source guidelines.
- Supervise and provide guidelines to staff and volunteers.
- Recruit and evaluate program participants, monitor their progress, and make recommendations for appropriate classes.
- Maintain accountability for all participants, staff, and volunteers.
- Serve as a professional role model.
- Collaborate effectively with other project staff.
- Comply with funding source guidelines and Catholic Charities policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- TESOL degree, and/or TESOL certification from a state licensing agency.
- Minimum of two years of experience in TESOL instruction in a classroom setting with a structured curriculum.
- Valid N.Y.S. Driver's License.
- NYS driver's license check.
- State Central Register Clearance.
Pay
Pay for this Position is $23.00 Per Hour.
