ACCOUNTABILITIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the lead instructor in planning and delivering ESOL lessons aligned with the curriculum and learning objectives
- Provide one-on-one and small-group tutoring to reinforce classroom instruction
- Help prepare instructional materials, classroom activities, and learning resources
- Maintain accurate records of tutoring sessions, student progress, and classroom activities
- Support students in improving English language proficiency in speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, and vocabulary
- Encourage student engagement and foster a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment
- Auxiliary support for classroom management and ensuring a productive learning atmosphere
- Assist with preparing and monitoring student participation, progress, and attendance
- Provide feedback to the lead instructor based on student progress and classroom observations
Requirements
- Minimum qualifications: Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in Education, English, Linguistics, TESOL, Applied Linguistics, or a related field (preferred)
- Previous experience teaching, tutoring, mentoring, or assisting English language learners is an advantage
- Familiarity with Spanish and/or Creole
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or equivalent English language teaching certification (preferred but not required)
- Experience working with multicultural or multilingual learners
- Familiarity with online learning platforms and Microsoft Office or Google Workspace
- Basic knowledge of student assessment and progress tracking
